Registration is now open for Cascadia Irish Music Week 2026. The dates are Wed, August 12 - Sun, Aug 16, 2026 at The Evergreen State College (TESC), Olympia, Washington. Please read through the information on this page before submitting your registration. If you have questions not answered here, please email us.
Please note: Tuition, lodging and meals must be booked through the College from the link on this page.
Please note: Video recording is NOT allowed in any classes. Audio recording allowed if the teacher permits it. Video recording of concerts and sessions is OK but please be discreet.
Lodgings - Our lodgings for the week are in Evergreen's lovely apartment buildings. Each building has three floors, and on each floor are several private rooms with locking doors, plus a shared kitchen area and bathrooms. There is a refrigerator in each kitchen area, and we've been informed that the microwaves and cooking ranges will be working this year
Couples: The Evergreen State College charges us by the person, rather than by the room, and each room has only a single bed. Let us know on the application form if you want to room near someone and we will aim to assign you rooms as close as possible.
These structures are tucked back in the woods and are very pleasant. You can read more about these lodgings and even take a panoramic tour of the rooms on the TESC website. If you're staying on-campus you'll also have access to the lovely woods, trails and beaches adjoining the campus.
Meals - All meals are served in the dining Hall at TESC, "The Greenery". They can accommodate vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dietary needs. There is also an espresso shop on campus (not included in our meal plan) . . . two of them, in fact, although we don't know for sure if one of them will be open. If you don't choose the full meal plan, you can purchase individual meals in the Greenery depending on availability.
Payment and Cancellations
Registration must be accompanied by full payment.
No refunds will be issued except in cases of medical or family emergency.
However, if at any time we cancel the event, we will reimburse you in full, including deposit.
A $6/day/M-F parking fee is NOT included in the above packages. Daily and weekly parking permits can be purchased directly at the College.
We cannot accommodate "partial week" registrations . . . thanks for your understanding!
A note about costs...
Cascadia Irish Music Week is 100% tuition funded, although we have received a few small grants from arts organizations over the years, plus some donations to fund scholarships. We receive no income from sponsorships. We're a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, part of the longstanding Irish Heritage Club of Seattle.
Being tuition funded, we budget very carefully in order to just break even and hopefully come away with a little extra to have a buffer to start the next year's camp. Most of the amount paid by each student goes directly to the college to pay for lodging and meals. The college's charges have risen by more than 50% over the last few years. The remainder of each tuition payment goes towards paying the teachers, flying them to Olympia and paying for their lodging and meals during the week. There's no fat in our budget: we don't do any marketing other than emails, social media and our website. We've relied on word of mouth in the Irish music community.
We set the cost of attendance by taking all these fixed costs into account, then estimating how many students we'll have and working out the lowest possible price we can charge and still feel confident of breaking even. There's always a risk that we won't have enough tuition payments to cover our fixed costs, but so far we've managed thanks to the great support of our students and our many volunteers.
Every year we look at our budget and the cost of attendance, and wish we could make it more affordable. We especially understand that young people and students often can't afford the full tuition, so we've offered as many youth scholarships as possible and we've also offered financial assistance awards to people of any age who want to come but can't afford the tuition cost. We hope to expand our scholarships and financial assistance awards and we always welcome donations earmarked for that purpose.
